Fernando Tatis Jr.'s early home run drought seems like a distant memory, as the star right fielder crushed two home runs Sunday to help lead the Padres past the Twins 8-1 to complete a 3-game sweep. Tatis Jr. went 4-5 with two long balls, 4 RBIs and stole a base, upping his season total to 17 homers and 29 stolen bases. Jackson Merrill blasted his 21st home run of the season, and the Padres hit .375 with runners in scoring position to provide plenty of run support for Walker Buehler. Buehler did his part as well, allowing just one run in six innings on a solo homer to Brooks Lee in the 5th inning that briefly tied the game, before the Padres rallied for four runs in the 6th inning, two more in the 7th and another run for good measure in the 8th. It was the type of all around performance that should give confidence to the team as they chase a wild card spot down the final stretch of the season. The Pirates come to town for a 3-game series beginning on Monday.
