The Padres cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Marlins on Tuesday, as Matt Waldron delivered his best outing of his career. Waldron hurled 7 shutout innings while striking out 8 and walking none. After a clean inning from Wandy Peralta, Jeremiah Estrada was called upon to close out the 9th with a 4-0 lead, and struck out the side to set an expansion-era record for consecutive strikeouts with 13. Jurickson Profar had a great game, driving in 3 runs including a 2-run homer in the 1st inning, while Donovan Solano chipped in with 3 hits and drove in a crucial insurance run in the 8th inning. The Padres will try to end their homestand with a sweep of the Marlins with a win on Wednesday afternoon.
