MLB owners lockout players after expiration of CBA

Major League Baseball locked out its players on Wednesday night as the current collective bargaining agreement expired, and a new deal was not reached. This is baseball's ninth work stoppage and fourth lockout, with the hope of both sides agreeing to a new CBA in time for the start of spring training.
