The Padres defeated the Diamondbacks 4-1 in their first game without Manny Machado suffered a sprained ankle on Sunday. Yu Darvish did what aces do, and that's stop a losing streak. Darvish was brilliant, allowing just 1 run in 7 innings, while the Padres got contributions on offense from multiple sources, as Jake Cronenworth and Trent Grisham each hit solo homers, while Ha-Seong Kim drove in 2 with a single back up the middle in the 2nd inning. Taylor Rogers pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning to earn his 21st save of the season.
