There was a lot of discussion prior to Monday's game about whether or not the Padres' offense could carry over from their series in Mexico City. For one night at least, it did. The Padres defeated the Reds 8-3, as the offense tallied 16 hits. Juan Soto cranked a 2-run double off the center field wall to get things started in the 1st inning. After falling behind 3-2 in the 4th inning, Trent Grisham tied the game with an RBI-double in the bottom of the 4th. Ha-Seong Kim broke the game wide open with a 3-run bomb in the bottom of the 5th inning, and Manny Machado added 2 insurance runs in the 8th on a single to right field.

Blake Snell had the best start of the season thus far, completing 6 innings for the first time all year and earning his first win. The southpaw struck out 7 and walked none while allowing 3 earned runs. The Padres will look to keep the good times rolling on Tuesday night when Michael Wacha toes the rubber.
