The Padres defeated the Rockies 9-3 on Saturday night, lowering their magic number to clinch a playoff spot to 8. Yu Darvish notched another quality start, allowing just 2 runs in 6 innings while striking out 8. It was a close game entering the 7th inning, with the Padres leading 3-2, when Jake Cronenworth broke the game open with a 2-run single with the bases loaded. Josh Bell would draw a bases loaded walk, Ha-Seong Kim drove in a run with an infield single, and Trent Grisham beat out a fielder's choice that was nearly an inning-ending double play to allow the 6th run of the inning to score. The Padres will go for the series win on Sunday at 12:10.
