The Padres blasted three home runs in the 9th inning of a scoreless game to beat the Diamondbacks 5-0 on Saturday night. Randy Vasquez was called up to make the start, and he dazzled, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing one hit and one walk, though he did hit two batters. Arizona's pitchers held the Padres in check as well, with the team knotted at zero runs apiece entering the 9th. The Diamondbacks brought in AJ Puk, who has been lights out since joining the team at the trade deadline. David Peralta led off the inning with a single, and then Kyle Higashioka blasted one into the left field stands to put the Padres up 2-0. Brandon Lockridge went back to back, hitting his first career home run. Jurickson Profar would single off of Scott McGough, and then Donovan Solano hit the Padres third homer of the inning, as they went on to win 5-0 and earn their 93rd win of the season, good for second most in franchise history. The Padres will conclude their regular season on Sunday.
