The Padres won what felt like a playoff game against the Brewers on Monday night, clinching a spot in the postseason with a 5-4 win in 11 innings. After the Padres scored on a balk in the 1st inning, the Brewers struck back with three runs in the 2nd. Jose Iglesias blasted a solo homer in the 5th to bring the Padres to within a run, and then Luis Arraez tied the game at 3 with a 2-out RBI-single in the 7th inning.

The Brewers would bring home their lead runner on a bang bang play at the plate in the top of the 10th inning. With runners on the corners and one out, Gavin Sheets tied the game in the bottom of the 10th by beating out a groundout to second base on a double play attempt. Bradgley Rodriguez pitched the 11th inning, and faced a bases loaded situation with one out, and got Jackson Chourio to ground into an inning-ending double play without allowing a run to score, setting the stage for the Padres to have a chance to win it in the bottom of the 11th. After Jose Iglesias laid down a sac-bunt to move Bryce Johnson to third base, Freddy Fermin ripped a single to center field to send the Padres into the postseason.
