The Padres notched their best win of the young season, coming back from an 8-0 deficit to beat the Cubs 9-8. Yu Darvish didn't have his best stuff, giving up 4 earned runs on 4 hits and 3 walks in just 3 innings of work. But the Padres rallied for 7 runs in the 6th inning to draw to within a run.
Jake Cronenworth got the rally starting by capping off a 9-pitch at-bat with a 2-run homer. Ha-Seong Kim's 2-run triple cut the Cubs' original 8-run lead in half. After an RBI-groundout from Luis Campusano, Xander Bogaerts blasted a 2-run homer, making it a 1-run game. Fernando Tatis Jr. put the Padres on top for good with a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 8th, and Robert Suarez pitched a perfect 9th inning to earn his 4th save of the season.
