The theme from the first two games of the season carried over into the third, as the Padres' starting pitching continued to shine. Joe Musgrove pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts. Manny Machado had a huge night, going 2-4 with a walk, an RBI, 2 runs and a stolen base. Eric Hosmer broke a tie in the 8th inning with an RBI-single, and the Friars never looked back.
It was a night of firsts, as Steven Wilson earned his first career win, C.J. Abrams collected his first hit and run scored, and Jose Azocar got his first hit and RBI. The Padres will close out their series in Arizona on Sunday at 1:10 on 97.3 The Fan.
