The Padres won their 6th game in a row on Tuesday evening, beating the Mariners 4-1 in the first game of their 3-game set and putting an end to Seattle's 4-game winning streak. Michael King was terrific, limiting the Mariners to just one run on four hits in six innings. The Padres fell behind 1-0 on Dominic Canzone's run scoring sacrifice fly in the 2nd inning, but answered back in the bottom of the 3rd inning by scoring three runs. Fernando Tatis Jr. drove in Ramon Laureano with a single up the middle, and after Jackson Merrill reached on a single and stole second base, Xander Bogaerts, brought Tatis Jr. and Merrill home with a single, making it 3-1. Bogaerts added an insurance run with a single in the 8th inning, part of a three-hit three-RBI night for Bogaerts. After King departed the game, the Padres' bullpen was terrific, as Adrian Morejon, Jason Adam and Mason Miller combined for three hitless innings, as the Padres improved to 11-6 on the season. Randy Vasquez will start for the Padres on Wednesday.
