The Padres lost 6-5 to the Braves on Saturday in a game that started out as a pitcher's duel. Sean Manaea allowed just 3 runs in 7 innings while striking out 12. Charlie Morton allowed 1 run in 6 innings and struck out 9. Neither bullpen pitched effectively though. The Padres scored 4 runs in the top of the 8th inning to take a 5-2 lead, but the Braves answered right back with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 8th, as the Braves evened up this series at 1 game apiece. The rubber match will be Sunday morning at 8:35 am.
