The Padres lost to the Rockies 5-4 on Saturday night, their ninth consecutive loss at Coors Field. Nick Martinez struggled, allowing 10 baserunners and 4 earned runs in 5 innings of work. San Diego overcame an early 2-0 deficit, scoring 4 unanswered runs, including a 2-run blast from Manny Machado. But Charlie Blackmon tied the game on a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning, and then Ryan McMahon's solo shot in the bottom of the 8th off of Luis Garcia proved to be the game winner. The Padres will try to avoid being swept on Sunday afternoon at 12:10.
