Blake Snell delivered one of his best starts of the season on Wednesday, as he fired 6 shutout innings with 7 strikeouts. Their lone run came on a solo home run by the newly claimed Gary Sanchez in the 3rd inning. The Padres ran into a couple of jams, but were able to turn 3 inning-ending double plays, including one in the bottom of the 8th with two runners on in a game-tying late-game situation. Josh Hader was called upon to protect a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 9th, but he gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk while only recording one out. The Padres will send Joe Musgrove to the hill on Thursday morning to try and salvage a series win.
