Friday's series opener between the Padres and Dodgers was a low scoring affair. The Padres got on the board first, thanks to Eric Hosmer's RBI-groundout. Nick Martinez battled in and out of jams through the first four innings without allowing a run, until he faced LA's lineup the third time through in the 5th. He allowed solo homers to Mookie Betts and Max Muncy, giving up the Padres lead in the process. The Dodgers blew the game open in the 7th inning with 3 runs, and Mookie Betts hit his second homer of the night in the 9th inning, as the Dodgers won 6-1.
