The Padres earned a tough 2-1 win over the Angels on Sunday, bouncing back from Friday's loss to win two in a row and take the series on the road in Anaheim. Michael King was able to overcome control issues, tossing five scoreless innings despite issuing four free passes. Xander Bogaerts broke a scoreless tie in the 4th inning with a 2-out RBI-single up the middle to bring in Fernando Tatis Jr. Bryce Johnson drove in a crucial insurance run in the 7th inning that proved to be the game-winning run, putting the Padres up 2-0 at the time. The Angels responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame, but Bradgley Rodriguez and Mason Miller combined to hold the lead for the final 2.2 innings of the game. The Padres improved to 15-7 with the win, and will enjoy an off day on Monday before taking on the Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday.
