The Padres beat the Rangers 3-1 on Thursday to win their fourth straight series. Donovan Solano's RBI-double in the 4th inning put the Padres on top 1-0. Jurickson Profar, fresh off being voted an All-Star starter, blasted a solo homer in the 6th inning. Wyatt Langford's RBI-single in the 6th made it a 2-1 game. Ha-Seong Kim added a crucial insurance run on the board with a sac-fly in the 7th inning. Michael King pitched into the 6th inning and allowed just 1 run, while Jeremiah Estrada, Adrian Morejon and Robert Suarez combined for 3.2 scoreless innings. Suarez earned his 22nd save of the season just one day after securing a 4-out save on Wednesday. The Padres will now return to San Diego for a homestand against the Diamondbacks, Mariners and Braves to wrap up the first half.
