The Padres bounced back from two straight losses in a big way on Sunday, defeating the Blue Jays 6-3. Joe Musgrove was sharp, completing seven frames for the first time this season while allowing three runs. The Padres had a patient offensive approach, loading the bases with traffic despite only connecting for six hits. The Friars drew nine walks, a hit by pitch and a catcher's interference. They loaded the bases in the 5th, 6th and 8th innings, and cashed in on those opportunities with two runs in each of the 6th and 8th innings. Perhaps most importantly, Xander Bogaerts began to show signs of breaking out of his early-season slump, going 2-4 with a home run plus a bases-loaded walk. Robert Suarez locked down the 9th inning to earn his seventh save of the season. The Padres will now hit the road and begin a 4-game series against the Rockies on Monday.
