Randy Vasquez delivered one of his finest starts of the season in the Padres' 6-2 win over the Twins on Friday night. The right-hander needed just 87 pitches to efficiently navigate 7 innings. The only damage Vasquez allowed was a 2-run triple to Kody Clemens in the 2nd inning, which was one of only two hits Vasquez allowed. The Padres offense provided plenty of run support, highlighted by their 4-run 5th inning, where runs scored in four consecutive at-bats. Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Rengifo, and Manny Machado each hit RBI-singles, followed by an RBI-sacrifice fly from Ty France, to go along with the 2-run homer he hit in the 1st inning. Bradgley Rodriguez and Mason Miller each tossed a scoreless inning as the Padres won their first game of this homestand 6-2.
