UPDATE: The Padres have officially announced the signing of Jake Cronenworth to a 7-year contract extension. The Padres did not announce the financial terms of the deal. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the extension is worth $80 million, while the Athletic reports that it includes a limited 8-team no-trade clause.

The Athletic's Dennis Lin has reported that the Padres and Jake Cronenworth have agreed to a 7-year contract extension, that will begin in 2024. The two sides agreed on a 1-year $4.225 million contract to avoid arbitration during the offseason. Financial details of the reported deal are still unknown. Cronenworth came over to the Padres as part of the Tommy Pham trade with Tampa Bay, and just began his 4th season in San Diego.
