According to MLB.com and other reports, the Padres are set to call up their 5th ranked prospect Adam Mazur to start on Tuesday in place of Yu Darvish, who was just placed on the 15-day IL with a strained groin. Mazur was a 2nd round pick of the Padres in 2022 and had a 2.81 ERA combined between High-A Fort Wayne and Double-A San Antonio in 2023. That success carried over to begin the year in 2024, with Mazur pitching to the tune of a 1.95 ERA and a 32:5 K:BB ratio in 6 starts with San Antonio, before being promoted to Triple-A, where he had a 7.11 ERA in 4 starts.
