The Aztecs won their first NCAA Tournament game under head coach Brian Dutcher and ended a double digit conference losing streak in the tournament for Mountain West teams, with a 63-57 win over the College of Charleston on Thursday. Both teams struggled mightily on offense, especially from 3-point range, but the Aztecs created advantages in the paint, on the boards, with assists and especially in blocked shots. Matt Bradley was the only Aztec with double digit points, chipping in 17 points, but Micah Parrish was the late-game hero, sinking a crucial 3 with under 2 minutes to play, as well as blocking a shot, securing a rebound and sinking 2 free throws, all in the final 5 seconds of the half. San Diego State will now face 13th seeded Furman on Saturday after their upset win over 4th seeded Virginia.
