San Diego State cruised to a 45-14 win over Texas A&M Commerce in new head coach Sean Lewis' debut. Things got off to a slow start, with SDSU holding just a 3-0 lead after the first quarter and actually trailing 6-3 at the half. But the Aztecs kicked it into another gear in the second half, scoring 21 points in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to show what this new look offense is capable of. New quarterback Danny O'Neil threw for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns without an interception, while Marquez Cooper ran wild for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. The defense recovered two fumbles and got 4 sacks. All in all, it was an encouraging debut for Lewis, who will face a much stiffer test next Saturday when Oregon State comes to town.
