Boise State came to Snapdragon Stadium and handed San Diego State its third straight loss. The Aztecs had no answer for Broncos RB Ashton Jeanty, who ran for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries, and also added 49 yards through the air. Jalen Mayden was efficient, completing 16 of 22 passes for a touchdown and no interceptions, to go along with 85 yards and a score on the ground. Mayden converted a key 3rd down with his legs late in the game, but it wasn't enough, as the running game never got going. SDSU's running backs combined for just 81 yards on 24 on the ground. The Aztecs' defense failed to get a stop when they needed it most, as Boise State orchestrated an 11-play touchdown drive that bled nearly 5 minutes off the clock late in the 4th quarter when it was still a one-possession game. Mayden led the Aztecs down the field for a touchdown with just over a minute to play, but failed to recover the onside kick, allowing Boise State to run out the clock. San Diego State's next game is at Air Force next Saturday.
