Tony Pollard rewarded the Dallas Cowboys pretty much every time he touched the ball Sunday.

But, for some reason, that didn’t result in him seeing an uptick in carries.

Pollard finished Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams with eight rushes for 86 yards and a touchdown -- the highlight being Pollard gashing the Rams defense on a 57-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. But even after that, the Cowboys kept feeding Ezekiel Elliott, who finished with 78 yards on the ground over 22 carries with no touchdowns.

For years, Pollard has proven he can be a dynamic back, yet it seems like there’s always room for him to get more touches. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones gave his take on the current rushing situation during his weekly appearance on “The K&C Masterpiece”.

“I think there’s a balance you’ll have," Jones said. "Obviously, Zeke was having a great day and being physical, and I think it was taking its toll on the Rams. I think ultimately, would you like to get Pollard a few more touches? Absolutely. But they’ll work through that and continue to give him his touches. Obviously, he’s dynamic. He’s so (explosive) in terms of when he gets into the open field, he makes plays. I know that's something Mike (McCarthy) and Kellen (Moore) continue to work on, and hopefully as we move forward they’ll have more opportunities.”

At the end of the day, it’s a good problem to have that the Cowboys have two running back they’re plenty confident turning to.

However, as Pollard continues to light up opposing defenses, it remains fair to wonder if they’re deploying the duo properly.
