Veteran pitcher Zach Davies was a trending topic on social media for all the wrong reasons in recent days, after his estranged wife Megan took to Instagram to claim that Davies had cheated on her and that he essentially cut off all communication with her after he tersely ended their 10-year relationship via text message last year.

"In 2021 my world fell apart," she wrote in recent post explaining the breakup.
"I had to file for divorce without even having a single conversation with the person I built a life with," she added. "I spent 10 years supporting and loving this man. I made his dream my own, only for him to ghost his wife, leave his dogs and have me find out about his affair through word of mouth."
On Wednesday, Davies took the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks for the first time since the salacious allegations surfaced.
Needless to say, many fans who sympathized with his wife over her account of events were rooting for the journeyman right-hander to fail in his start against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Davies, now on his fourth team in as many years, obliged the haters -- by coughing up five earned runs in four innings at Dodger Stadium. The 29-year-old got off to a decent start before imploding in a four-run fourth, punctuated by a three-run homer by Justin Turner.
For Davies' critics, the development was a welcomed dose of "karma."
