Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are not only two of Hollywood's biggest names, but they're also really good friends ever since co-starring in "Titanic."
After running into each other in Los Angeles recently, Winslet admitted that she "couldn't stop crying" because it was the first time they’d seen each other in three years.
“I’ve known him for half my life!” said the star. “It’s not as if I’ve found myself in New York or he’s been in London and there’s been a chance to have dinner or grab a coffee and a catch-up. We haven’t been able to leave our countries. Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of COVID.”
In a wide-ranging interview with British outlet, the Guardian, Winslet talked about a few topics, including her recent highly-lauded project, the HBO streaming series, “Mare of Easttown.”

Eventually, the talk turned to Winslet’s role in the wildly successful film and her connection to DiCaprio.
When the interviewer told her how DiCaprio once complained to him how miserable he was during the arduous filming, Winslet admitted that making the massive blockbuster “wasn’t pleasant” for either actor. She laughed and responded: “I remember! I remember that he was!”
“It wasn’t pleasant for any of us,” Winslet quickly responded, “but we were all in it together. Though he had way more days off than I ever bloody did. I guess I was raised to be grateful and just get on with it. I didn’t feel it was my right to be miserable, and if I was miserable I certainly would not have let a journalist know. There is no way I would have let that slip!”

In his latest, the sprawling political satire, "Don't Look Up," DiCaprio takes on a comet hurtling towards the Earth. And for Winslet, she's been facing more treacherous underwater work while making the currently untitled sequel to "Avatar," expected to be out December, 2022.
As Page Six notes, Winslet and DiCaprio also starred in the intense 2008 drama, “Revolutionary Road,” where their portrayal of a far more combative couple than “Titanic” proved their chemistry worked in many ways.
“He’s my friend,” said Winslet, “my really close friend. We’re bonded for life.”
