Khloé Kardashian is opening up about her side effects from COVID-19.
The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star, 37, revealed in a Twitter Space chat that she experienced hair loss while battling coronavirus in March of 2020, People reports.
"My hair really fell out with COVID," the reality TV star shared. "So after, it was really a struggle for a minute."
To combat the symptoms, Kardashian said she took collagen powder, which she said has “helped me so, so much” in hair growth. At the time, the star was discussing New Zealand-based brand Dose & Co, for which she's a global spokesperson.
"I do the powder, just because that's what we had for so long," she said. "And I take so many vitamins a day, it's just so easy for me."
The American Academy of Dermatology says temporary hair loss is a common side effect of viruses which cause high fevers, including COVID.
During her bout with the virus, Kardashian also revealed that she never loss her sense of taste and smell. “But I had everything else — like anything else you can imagine,” she noted.
The mother of one first announced that she had contracted the deadly virus in a sneak peek of the final season of the Kardashian’s reality show in October 2020. The clip showed Kardashian recording the news in a hoarse voice.
“Just found out that I do have corona,” the star said in the clip. “I have been in my room. It’s gonna be fine, but it was really bad for a couple days.”
At the time, her COVID symptoms also included vomiting, coughing, shaking, hot and cold flashes, as well as a headache she said was unlike her usual migraines. As she battled the illness, she grew increasingly upset about not being able to see her 3-year-old daughter, True.
Kim Kardashian, 41, and her husband at the time, Kanye West, 45, both later revealed that they had also tested positive for the virus.
During her Twitter Space chat, Khloe also described what is was like to film KUWTK during the pandemic.
"It gave us something to do, and even though it was such a scary time, having that distraction was nice," she said. "But yeah, all of us –– now it's kind of our new normal –– but then we were all so nervous, and so scared. No one knew what was happening."
