Jane Fonda says Jennifer Lopez packs a punch.

Fonda appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” recently and chatted about a particular fight scene from “Monster-in-Law,” the 2005 romantic comedy she starred in opposite Jennifer Lopez. She revealed as the two were slapping each other in the movie, one of Lopez’s slaps cut Fonda above the eye.

“The thing that comes to mind right away is we have a slapping scene. I slap her, she slaps me Well Jennifer – as per Jennifer – she had this enormous diamond ring. And so, when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye, my eyebrow,” Fonda recalled of filming the movie.

“She’s never apologized,” the actress claimed.

In 2019, Lopez posted a video to her YouTube channel where she had a different recollection of how the scene played out. She said she was “mortified” after the cut happened and did in fact apologize.

She also said it was “one of the most fun scenes I’ve ever done.”

Lopez recalled saying, “I don’t want to hurt you,” and then “the next thing you know [Fonda] really went for it on one of those slaps.”

“Monster-In-Law” also starred Michael Vartan, Elaine Stritch, Adam Scott, and Wanda Sykes.
