“If you’re celebrating music, if you’re celebrating Black excellence, if you’re drawing attention to the people who have dedicated their lives to knocking down barriers and uplifting our communities — then there is no better place to do that than in Washington, DC,” said Mayor Muriel Bowser. “We are proud to be working with Pharrell to bring Something In The Water to DC for Juneteenth weekend. DC is open and we are ready to celebrate.”
Something In The Water was canceled for the past two years. In 2019, the festival was held once in Virginia Beach,VA, Pharrell’s home state. SITW’s mission is to celebrate art, culture and music, as well as unite communities in the DMV area. The 2022 lineup features a variety of Hip Hop, Pop, and R&B acts across three stages. Ashanti & Ja Rule, Usher, Chloe x Halle, Tyler the Creator, Jon Batiste, Pusha T and many more are headlining artists. Additionally, the festival will feature local Go-Go musicians such as Backyard Band, Rare Essence and Sound of the City.
Three day passes for Something In The Water Festival will go on sale April 30 at 10 AM local time. Fans who purchased passes previously will have pre-sale access April 28 at 10pm ET. For tickets and more information, visit SOMETHINGINTHEWATER.COM.
