Worldwide count of confirmed COVID-19 cases surpasses 100M

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Countries around the globe have now reported a combined total of more than 100 million COVID-19 cases, data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the university’s COVID-19 dashboard had recorded 100,032,461 global cases of the virus.

The U.S. reported 25,362,794 of those cases — more than any other country, according to the dashboard.

India reported the second-highest number of cases, with 10,676,838 positive COVID-19 test results.

A total of 2,149,818 people across the globe, meanwhile, had died of complications related to the virus as of Tuesday afternoon, including 423,010 in the U.S., the dashboard shows.
