Songs of the Day!

"Hot In The City" - Billy Idol
One of the first songs Billy Idol wrote himself, it originally wasn't successful at first, which Idol attributes to the cover art of the single.  He believed his "punk rock" look turned away a lot of radio stations.  Once the song was reissued with a new cover of just a city street, it became a rousing success and paved the way for his solo career.

"The Look Of Love" - ABC
The song was inspired by a real-life breakup singer Martin Fry had gone through, and if you listen closely, the girl saying "goodbye" at the end of the second verse is the ACTUAL girl that broke up with Fry!

"Let's Hear It For The Boy" - Deniece Williams
-Song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 1984 Academy Awards after appearing in the movie…Footloose!  It lost to Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You," from the movie Woman in Red.

"All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" - Heart
The song was originally written for Don Henley of The Eagles, who passed, and the band actually hates the song!  Ann Wilson has said it "kind of stood for everything we wanted to get away from," and that its lyrics are "hideous."  As such, they refuse to play it live anymore.
