The fireworks were seized and placed in a truck as a precautionary measure. Due to a "miscalculation," according to the LAPD, the truck went up in flames, damaging nearby property in the process.

The LAPD wrote in a statement that is is "Unknown at this time what caused an explosion."

Surrounding neighbors told CBS LA that the explosion felt like a "really hard earthquake."

Thankfully, nobody has died as a result of the explosion.

27-year-old Arturo Cejas was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of destructive devices, as he reportedly acquired the fireworks out of state with plans to sell them to residents in the neighborhood for Fourth of July.
