Songs of the day!
"Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" - C+C Music Factory
The line "Everybody Dance Now," was sung by Marth Walsh on the album, but for the music video, producers brought in model Zelma Davis to lip-synch Walsh's vocals. Walsh didn't even appear in the credits of the album! After lawsuits were filed she was given proper credit for her work four years after the song's release.
"Goody Two Shoes" - Adam Ant
Adam wrote this song when dealing with an everlasting intrusion by the press. He's quoted as saying it's "sort of answer back manifesto and just trying to keep things level-headed because I felt that, and still do, to a degree, that going on stage is creating an illusion. It's magical and it's wonderful and I love doing it, but off stage there has to be time out."
"It's My Life" - Talk Talk
This music video is often thought to be the first where the lead singer does not sing. Singer Mark Hollis' mouth is digitally obscured, which many believe is Hollis making a statement against lip-synching.
"Weird Science" - Oingo Boingo
Written by lead singer Danny Elfman, who went on to write theme music for many popular movies and TV shows, including The Simpsons, Beetlejuice, Batman, and Edward Scissorhands. And yes, the song was written specifically for the 1985 John Hughes movie of the same name.
