If you grew up in the 90s and 2000s, you knew that a birthday party at the skating rink was just about the coolest thing you could hope for.
Unfortunately, the roller rink has died down in the last couple of decades, but apparently, they are still going strong in Florida!
Because it's Florida though, you know just a calm night of fun skating is just too much to ask for.
According to the NY Post, 23 juveniles and 6 adults were arrested after a riot broke out at the Astro Skate skating rink Saturday evening. Evidently, a fight broke out after a planned party was canceled after party organizers failed to provide an off-duty deputy for the event, which Astro Skate requires.
After the party was canceled, the group took to social media calling for people to show up and wreak havoc on the business in retaliation. Deputies say the crowd of 300-400 people damaged not only Astro Skate but nearby businesses, stole property, and disrupted other establishments.
Ultimately, 23 juveniles were taken to the juvenile assessment center and six adults were booked into the Orient Road Jail.
