We are just about a month away from Thanksgiving, and this is news nobody wants to hear as we inch closer to Turkey Day: we may not have enough turkeys.

Apparently, America is suffering from its biggest turkey shortage in 40 years due to an outbreak of the bird flu.

Not only that, what turkeys remain are about 40% more expensive than last year, according to data from the American Farm Bureau Federation.

If you’re willing to pay the more expensive price, both Butterball and the National Turkey Federation say that there will be enough frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving, but the supply could tighten for fresh or specific-size birds.
