It's probably safe to say that in the height of the pandemic, we would all tip a little extra to help service industry employees make up for the massive loss of income Covid caused.

Well those days are long over.

A new poll from CreditCards.com has found that Americans are currently tipping worse than ever before, even more so than before the beginnings of the pandemic.

Ted Rossman, a senior industry analyst at CreditCards.com, said, "While more than a third of Americans pledged to become better tippers in 2020 and 2021, it seems that sentiment has worn off.  Inflation is cutting into consumers' purchasing power and a tight labor market has left many service industry businesses understaffed and struggling to provide top-notch customer experiences."

The poll found that only 73% said they always tip at restaurants, which is down from 77% three years ago.

Only 57% of respondents always tip food delivery people, down from 63%, and 43% always tip Uber drivers, which is down from 49%.
