Halloween is a time where we celebrate the spooky and scary things in our life and nothing will ever be scarier than confronting your phobias head-on.
Remember on Maury when they had on a woman who was terrified of cotton balls?
Casino.org recently conducted a poll of 2,500 Americans to find what the most common phobias are across each state. Turns out, overall we hate heights and other people.
The top ten most common phobias across the country include:
1 – Acrophobia, the fear of heights
2 – Social phobia, the fear of social situations
3 – Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders
4 – Thanatophobia, the fear of death
5 – Trypanophobia, the fear of needles
6 – Ophidiophobia, the fear of snakes
7 – Atychiphobia, an intense fear of failure
8 – Agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces
9 – Glossophobia, the fear of public speaking
10 – Trypophobia, having "feelings of disgust or fear when you see patterns with lots of holes."
In Texas, our most common phobia is Acrophobia. And believe it or not, Claustrophobia only ranked as the No. 1 phobia in one state, Mississippi.
