Last week we were all subject to a mandatory test of the Emergency Alert System that took over our phones, radios, and televisions.

One group who wasn't really affected by the test was the Amish, who tend to shun modern day technology in favor of more simple, anachronistic lifestyle.

However, some members of the Amish community are being shunned themselves, because they were in possession of secret cell phones their peers didn't know about, but learned after they started blaring the test!

A former member of the Amish community revealed on TikTok that a few of his friends are dealing with some backlash from the community after their secret phones started playing the test.

According to the Daily Star, being "shunned" could have significant repercussions for the Amish, including "a difficult separation of the person from the community for an extended period of time."
