The world was hit hard with the sudden loss of icon Betty White this past New Year's Eve, and the last week and a half we've seen an outpouring of tributes to the late actress.
And that includes Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue in San Angelo, who honored White by naming their brand new baby donkey "Betty White."
The rescue donkey group wrote on Facebook:
This beautiful little jennet was born on Christmas Day but we were unable to come up with the perfect name until New Year's Eve. Her namesake was a PVDR supporter since 2006. Betty White was a tremendous voice for animals both here in the US and around the world.
An ardent supporter of the sanctuary for over two decades, Peaceful Valley also named their newly constructed nursery in her honor.
White passed away in her sleep December 31, 2021 of natural causes.
