How often will you try to run to the store only to be greeted by a person playing the violin outside of its entrance looking for a donation of some sorts?
We see it all the time, but be wary! Police are now issuing warnings that they've encountered more and more people pretending to play the violin while still asking for donations from unsuspecting citizens.
News Channel 3 in Kalamazoo, Michigan confronted one such man pretending to play violin for tips outside of a Target.
He had a sign that said he was a father of three, and needed money for food and rent, though when the reporter exposed him as a fraud, he claimed he couldn't speak English and packed up and left.
This kind of scam though is popping up all over the country.
Some law enforcement agencies claim these scammers could be part of some kind of traveling, organized group that's hustling people out of their hard-earned money.
Either way, they are advising citizens to stay alert and be warned of this scam.
