Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is set to get married to journalist Lauren Sanchez this week in Venice, although a change of venue was in order after Bezos received credible threats of locals disrupting the ceremony.
According to The Guardian, locals threatened to fill the canal leading to the Scuola Grande della Misericordia with inflatable crocodiles to prevent wedding guests from entering the venue.
Instead, the wedding will now be held at Arsenale, a historic complex of shipyards surrounded by fortified walls that, according to the Guardian, will be "much harder for the protesters to penetrate."
Venice authorities have increased the security throughout the city due to the wedding, which is expected to be attended by Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ivanka Trump.
