Black Lives Matter crosswalks unveiled in S. Dallas

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place on MLK Day.

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Dallas city officials and a local Black empowerment organization will unveil new street art. Multiple crosswalks in South Dallas have been painted with Black Lives Matter messages. Abounding Prosperity, Inc. teamed up with Dallas City Council on the project which was designed to unite the community.

The walkways will be officially commemorated at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Malcolm X Blvd. on Monday, January 17th. The ceremony begins at 12:30pm.

CBSDFW reported that the other BLM crosswalks will be at Al Lipscomb Way and S. Ervay Way, Al Lipscomb Way and S. Harwood, Al Lipscomb Way and Malcolm X Blvd., Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Colonial Ave., and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Jackson Blvd.
