Loki Skywalker Mowbray was born May 4, 2017. Because he was born on Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you), his parents found it appropriate to name him after one of the franchises most popular characters.
Those years ago, they couldn't have imagined that his name would have landed them in as much legal turmoil as it has.
The Mowbrays were recently trying to obtain a passport for Loki but were denied because his name "relates to a trademark or copyright."
According to the New Zealand Herald, Christian and Becky Mowbray were told they would either have to get permission from Disney or change Loki's name in order for him to get a passport. Obviously, they were not too content with either option.
After the story gained steam, the authorities eventually relented and allowed Loki Skywalker Mowbray to get a passport, void of getting permission from Disney or changing his name.
