This week's sweet girl is three-year-old April, a 40-lb. mixed breed who is cuddly, good with other dogs, and loves the sunshine! April is already housebroken, crate-trained and does well with young children.

April was extremely timid when she first arrived at the shelter, but after living with a caring foster family, she is now a happy, healthy girl! She enjoys relaxing on the couch and playing dress-up!

According to her foster mom, April says:
- I am the queen of outdoor potty breaks!
- I like sleeping in my crate at night and also hang out in there when the hoomans leave the house.
- I am good with other doggos. I like to wrestle and play rough so I would definitely do best in an active home where I can burn off some of my energy, but I also am a well-mannered gal who will do my best to match another dog's energy. What can I say? I just think everyone should want to play and zoomies are THE BEST!
- When it comes to kids, I’m your gal! My best friend is a toddler who comes to visit me once in a while. I’m patient and gentle with kids but as always, slow introductions are recommended so we can get to know each other properly.
- I’m a couch potato. When I’m not playing, I loooove lounging on the couch next to my foster family and fur-siblings. I’ll even let you pick the movie if you share your popcorn!

- My foster mom dresses me up in outfits, and I don’t complain. A lady this fabulous needs an outfit to match, after all!
- I am spayed, up-to-date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped.
- Good on a leash but I do have a tendency to pull so I can smell all the yummy things. I’m not opposed to a harness. After all, that can count as an outfit, right? Ohhhh, maybe it can be rhinestoned!
- I can sometimes be slow to warm up in new situations. I am particularly hesitant of men at first but when I tell you that my foster dad is now my very best friend, I mean it! It took me a little bit to warm up but now him and I cuddle every single night. My foster mom thinks I might even like him more now!
- I’m not a big fan of toys or treats, but my absolute favorite thing lying in the grass feeling warm sunshine on my soft, beautiful chocolate coat.
