You probably live near a house or two that goes all out for decorating for Christmas. Well, none of those houses have anything on Tim and Grace Gay's house in Union Vale, New York.
The family holds the Guinness World Record for "the most lights on a residential property," and they their Christmas display this year is bigger than ever.
This year, the Gay's Christmas display includes 720,426 lights! And believe it or not, their neighbors are not too happy.
A man named Edward Kasche compared it to "running a Legoland out of your property for 40 days a year." According to UPI, he ran for a seat on the town board last year with the sole intention of trying to shut the house's display down! He lost with 15% of the vote.
Other neighbors have complained about crowds leaving their yards littered with discarded alcohol bottles, trash, and even human urine.
The Gays will have their Christmas display up through December 28th, and they're not worried about any criticism from their neighbors.
Tim says, "If you bring joy and happiness to 50,000 people, and you have 10 or 20 don't like you, I think that's a fair trade-off."
