Last week, a couple in Jiangsu, China were getting married when the mother of the groom noticed something rather significant about her future daughter-in-law.

The woman noticed that the bride had a very distinct birthmark on her hand, and asked whether or not she had been adopted as a baby. She asked, because as a young mother, she had given up a baby girl for adoption, and she also had a very distinct birthmark on her hand.

And we know what you're thinking, and yes, it's true. The bride was also the daughter of the mother of the groom. They were siblings, and they were about to get married.

Well believe it or not, the wedding still went on!

According to the Times Now News, the mother actually adopted the groom, so technically he and his future bride-to-be weren't related after all, and the mother had no problems with the couple continuing the ceremony.

The woman adopted the boy after years of searching for her daughter proved futile. The bride called meeting her biological family "happier than the wedding day itself."
