According to Community Impact, proposed new rules could set revised zoning and code regulations that make registration for these rentals mandatory, and even ban them from most residential neighborhoods.

During the first City Council meeting of the month this past Wednesday, City Manager T.C. Broadnax said that the staff will “issue a formal recommendation by the end of the week on how to best regulate properties advertised on Airbnb and other platforms.”

Broadnax added that the vote was being set for June 14 to “get this item resolved by the current sitting council.”
