Mark Gardner says he is thankful to be alive.
A security camera above his garage captured an attempted armed robbery performed by three individuals who followed Garner home from the bank.
The entire incident spanned a terrifying 15 seconds. Gardner told WFAA, ""I feel the message has to get out. Never ever did I think something like this would happen."
Gardner is not the first victim in this attempted type of robbery, which police have dubbed "jugging," when someone follows a person leaving a bank with a large amount of money then burglarizes them at their next stop.
Thankfully Gardner, who was with his stepson at the time of the incident, was able to speed away. He says he's thankful he trusted his instincts and backed into his driveway, and cautioned others to "be more aware of surroundings."
North Texas law enforcement advised that if a large amount of money from the bank needs to be withdrawn, conceal it before leaving so it can't be seen, and if you believe someone is following you from the bank call 911.
