The general public has proven time and time again that we just cannot be trusted with self-service checkouts at stores like Target and Walmart. How many stories have you seen about people switching the price tag of an expensive item with a cheaper one?
With that in mind, how would you feel about self-service TSA checkpoints at the airport?
That reality is closer than you think as the Department of Homeland Security will be rolling out such a program called “Screening at Speed” beginning next year.
According to CW33, the program will begin an initial run at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas before heading to other major airports including DFW Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Boston Logon, and Miami International.
Manager of the Screening at Speed program John Fortune says this feature will be available for “low-risk travelers who have either TSA PreCheck or CLEAR.”
